Michael Hannwacker, DVM

Dr. Michael Hannwacker is delighted to be part of the Pet Vet team and its mission to provide excellent care and service to both patients and pet parents.
He was born in New York but grew up in Ireland. He received his degree from Trinity College Dublin’s School of Veterinary Medicine. He enjoys the variety of being a general practitioner but especially enjoys working with senior pets and their pet parents to help them manage the chronic diseases of old age so they may age gracefully and enjoy the later stages of their lives as comfortably as possible. Dr. Hannwacker also has interests in comprehensive, modern medical care as well as dermatology and dentistry.

He and his wife, Marina, met during their senior year of college. They have two wonderful sons, a terrific daughter-in-law, and an awesome grandson. Yellow Labrador retrievers and rescue cats have been a key part of the family. The couple loves to spend their free time with family, traveling, being outdoors, and going to museums and other cultural activities. Dr. Hannwacker enjoys anything to do with the sea, including going to the beach and boating, and he has recently taken up cycling as a relaxing hobby.
