An Important Update from Pet Vet Animal Hospital
After 32 years of caring for pets and families in the Deerfield Beach, Florida, community, Pet Vet Animal Hospital will be closing its doors this Fall and bringing our team together with the team at Boca Delray Animal Hospital. Together, we’ll continue providing compassionate veterinary care with shared expertise, expanded resources, and access to a well-equipped facility. By combining our teams, we are able to expand the services we offer our clients, including boarding and grooming.
Our final day for veterinary appointments, medication refills, and food pickups at Pet Vet Animal Hospital will be Saturday, October 31, 2026.
Our Doctors and Care Team
Dr. Grabowski will continue caring for patients at Boca Delray Animal Hospital, offering families the opportunity to continue seeing a familiar, trusted veterinarian.
Dr. Hekman will continue caring for patients at both Boca Delray Animal Hospital and another sister location, Coco-Park Animal Hospital, giving families the option to choose the location that works best for them.
Most of our team members will be transitioning to Boca Delray Animal Hospital or Coco-Park Animal Hospital. Two team members, including our hospital manager, will be joining Southport Animal Hospital in Fort Lauderdale.
Support During the Transition
We know that transitioning your pet’s care can feel overwhelming, and our team is committed to making this process as smooth as possible.
Our team will remain available at Pet Vet Animal Hospital through Saturday, October 31, 2026, to provide transition support, including:
- Transferring medical records
- Assisting with prescription transfers
- Helping clients schedule appointments with a new veterinary provider
- Answering questions about your pet’s transition of care
Requesting Medical Records
If you choose to continue your pet’s care at Boca Delray Animal Hospital, you do not need to request a transfer of medical records. Dr. Grabowski, Dr. Hekman, and the other veterinarians at that hospital will have access to your pet’s records, and their team is ready to welcome you and your pets.
If you choose Coco-Park Animal Hospital or another veterinary provider, our team can help coordinate the transfer of your pet’s records.
For quick access to basic medical information, including vaccination history, many records are also available through the PetDesk app.
To request a copy of your pet’s medical records, please email petvetah@yourvetdoc.com or call (954) 428-8600.
Please allow 3–5 business days for digital copies to be sent by email and up to one week for physical copies to be mailed or made available for pickup.
Information about requesting medical records after our location has closed will be shared as soon as it becomes available.
Managing Prescriptions and Treatments
If your pet has an ongoing prescription or treatment plan, we encourage you to plan ahead for any care or refills they may need during this transition. Please call (954) 428-8600 before our final day on Saturday, October 31, 2026, to discuss needed refills and allow time for medications to be prepared and picked up.
If you plan to continue your pet’s care with their current veterinarian at Boca Delray Animal Hospital or Coco-Park Animal Hospital, our team can help coordinate ongoing prescriptions and treatments. Please contact the receiving hospital in advance to discuss your pet’s needs and arrange any necessary appointments or refills.
If you plan to seek care elsewhere, please establish care with your new veterinary provider before our closure to help avoid interruptions in your pet’s prescriptions and treatments.

Thank You, Deerfield Beach
For 32 years, you have trusted us through new puppies and kittens, annual visits, illnesses, emergencies, difficult goodbyes, and so many moments in between. We are deeply grateful for that trust, and for the relationships we have built with you and your pets.
Thank you for welcoming us into your lives, sharing your pets’ milestones with us, and allowing us to be there when you needed support. These connections have made Pet Vet Animal Hospital much more than a place to work, and they will remain meaningful to our team long after our doors close.
While saying goodbye to our hospital is difficult, our commitment to your pets continues at Boca Delray. Our priority until then is helping every patient transition to the care they need, with the support and compassion your family deserves.
To our clients, our patients, and the Deerfield Beach community: thank you for allowing Pet Vet Animal Hospital to be part of your families. It has truly been our honor to care for your pets.
We look forward to continuing our pet care journey together at Boca Delray Animal Hospital.
